Avant-Garde IX

Architectural object
The board is made from solid Caucasian mountain ash. The form references the principles of Russian Constructivism: an elongated handle with three circular openings is intersected by a rectangular groove that functions as a structural element. The geometry of the laminated surface and the strict proportions create an industrial aesthetic characteristic of the artistic language of the 1920s.
The wood is left untinted; expressiveness is achieved through construction, rhythm, and the natural texture of the material.
