This author’s bowl is made in the form of a perfect square and refers to the Art Deco aesthetics of New York. A distinctive feature of the form is the stepped interior, replacing the usual smooth transition from the walls to the base. The bowl is raised on a pedestal, creating a sense of separation from the surface, as if the object were slightly floating.

The piece is made from a solid elm slab. The strict geometry of the form is combined with the vivid, rich texture of the wood in a warm golden tone, emphasizing the natural character of the material.
