Deconstruction of virus

Wall sculpture
An end-grain cross-section of apricot wood, fractured along the natural lines of internal tension in the wood and preserved in its original form. The ruptures are stabilized with epoxy resin containing jasper, emphasizing the inherent logic of material rupture. Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, the work is dedicated to the development of the vaccine, hence its title, Deconstruction of the Virus. The object captures a moment in which matter itself determines the form, while intervention merely halts the process.
